What Does Hex Size Mean?
Our biodegradable glitter is cut into tiny hexagons. The hex number tells you the width of each flake in thousandths of an inch, so 008 hex is 0.008 inches (about 0.2mm) across. The higher the number, the bigger and bolder the sparkle.
Which Glitter Size Should I Choose?
For eye makeup
Choose ultra fine or fine glitter. They give a smooth, blendable finish. Avoid putting medium, chunky or super chunky glitter close to the eyes.
For festival faces
Chunky glitter or blends are our most popular festival choices. They catch the light and look amazing in photos.
For hair, roots and beards
Chunky and super chunky glitter stand out best in hair. Try a glitter parting or a full glitter beard.
For body glitter
Mix sizes: fine or medium for an all-over shimmer, with chunky on the shoulders and chest for extra impact.
For crafts
Our cosmetic glitter is made for skin. For resin, candles and cards, choose our plastic-free craft glitter.
Glitter Shapes and Colours
Bioglitter® comes in hexagon flakes only, so we don't offer stars, hearts or moons. The colour range is set by the manufacturer. For example, holographic glitter is only available in silver.
Pot Sizes and Packaging
- 10ml aluminium pots: around 6g of glitter. The aluminium is recyclable, and the window lid pops out for separate recycling.
- Refill bags: larger amounts for topping up your pots, artists and events.
